Like many great tech stories, Based was born through years of hard work, tinkering, and experience. Our founder, Dan Sushik was obsessed with tech from a young age, spending every second learning code and web development. Then one day a friend hired him to build out a website for a real business. Excited at the opportunity he jumped at the $400 price tag which netted him about $5/hour, but the experience was worth every cent.
From that one job, referrals, and references piled up while Dan worked as a network engineer. Then in 2021, he took the leap to full-time creating Designr. With a fresh approach to design and marketing, the company began growing adding designers, marketers, social media experts, analysts, and copywriters. Designr was no longer only a design firm but implemented tools that accelerated growth for their clients.
Designr outgrew its scope and Based was born. Begun in design but matured through marketing. Based learned a secret to getting results – flawless design is worthless without a foundation of strategies that drive prospects to the front door. Businesses wanted to see those results clearly, and not hidden behind technical jargon.
