What Kind of Ads Are Good For My Home Remodeling Business?

When creating an ad in Google Ads, there are many options to choose from. Whether it is a common responsive search ad or a unique video ad, both can be very beneficial for your business. As discussed in an earlier article, we go into more detail about each kind of ad you can use for your business. You can click here to read about the different types of ads.
But in this article, we’ll talk about the two kinds of ads we think will be good for your home remodeling business, and those are Responsive Search Ads and Video Ads.

Why Responsive Search Ads?

Responsive search ads are the pinnacle of ads in Google Ads. With these ads, you can do basically anything you want. You can have your ad on Google promoting your kitchen remodeling services, and then when the potential customer clicks on the ad, it leads them to a landing page where they can be met with a contact form, a phone number, as well as more content they can read about. You can’t go wrong when creating these kinds of ads. The only thing that can harm you with these kinds of ads is if you have poor ad copy. With these kinds of ads, you need to have good headlines and descriptions that use specific keywords to target your specific audience. If you do that, your ads will bring you good results!

Why Video Ads?

Most of your leads and clicks will be coming from responsive search ads, and you may be wondering why video ads would be so beneficial. Well, that’s the one thing responsive search ads don’t have. In responsive search ads, you can have pictures, headlines, and descriptions, but in a video ad, it’s all about showing off! With a video ad, you can also have some content and buttons to click on for the customer to be redirected to a landing page, but the main focus is to sell your services in the video. In the video, you can show off all your hard work from past projects, show the great team you may have, or even share a testimonial from a real customer who experienced your services firsthand. Also, the main reason for this kind of ad is to grow your brand awareness in the community. Eventually, everyone will know who you are and what you do, so your leads will start to become more organic and less paid advertising! hes like “Lexington KY kitchen remodel” and “cabinet installation contractors near me.” You stop answering the same basic questions repeatedly—your site handles that grunt work. You instantly appear more professional than competitors still using template sites from 2018.

How to Make an Excellent Quality Ad?

When it comes to creating an ad, it is important to make sure that your ad in Google Ads has either a “Good” or “Excellent” ad strength. You may be asking, why does ad strength matter? Obviously the higher the ad strength, the better, but does it affect it that much? Yes. Yes, it does. Ad strength plays a big role in how your ads perform. It shows how good quality your ad copy is as well as how diverse it is, which if it is both good quality and diverse, will help maximize your ad’s performance. A unique ad that can target everything is the best kind of ad, so it is important to always strive to get your ad to be of “Good” or “Excellent” ad strength.
But how do we get it to the “Excellent” ad quality every time? It starts with your keyword list. When following the steps of creating a Google Ads campaign, it asks you to insert keywords you want to target in the ad group. After you include the keywords you want to include and click next, you then come to the screen where you make the ad, all of the headlines and descriptions. After you fill out a few headlines, the above section will pop up the keywords you should use for optimal performance of your ad. Use that list to compile different headlines that target the audience you want. So if you are targeting people looking for “kitchen remodeling services”, in your headlines you could use “Kitchen Remodel Companies Near Me” or “Kitchen Remodel Contactors”, both would be good headlines in Google Ads for if you are targeting kitchen remodeling services.
But it doesn’t just end at headlines. You can’t achieve excellent ad strength with only good headlines. The next important part is having good-quality descriptions. These descriptions should be both informative but also a call to action. You want to inform the customer about what your company does and stands for, but you also want to encourage them to click on the ad to redirect them to your landing page, where they can receive more information and fill out a contact form if they would like.
With good headlines and descriptions, your ad would be very good. But to get it to “Excellent” ad strength, you have to include images, structured snippets, site links, and just about everything Google Ads recommends, you should do. In simple words, the best way to get your ad to be excellent quality is to go above and beyond with it and your ad will perform well.

Let’s Get You More Customers!

Creating the ads is the easy part. Yeah, it may take some time to get your ad strength to “Excellent” but once you reach that ad strength, then the real fun begins. The fun part begins after you run your ads for a week or two to see what kind of results it brings you. After that, it is time to see how you can better tailor your ads to Google searches.
One way to do that is by looking at the search terms. This is its own tab in Google Ads under the “Insights & Reports” section. Once you get there, you will be able to see what kind of things people are searching for and what searches help get you conversions. This section is very important, as you can add more keywords to your list. But it also applies on the opposite side. You can also create a negative keyword list, which would help your ads only show up for relatable searches, and would ultimately minimize the chances of getting bad leads.
Another way you can get more conversions is by creating specific PPC landing pages for your ads. What we mean by this, is that for each ad, you create a specific landing page that people go to when they click your ad. For the ones who aren’t very knowledgeable in Google Ads, they have their ads go to a page on their website, which isn’t bad but it definitely doesn’t increase your chances of getting conversions.
With a PPC landing page, when a customer clicks on your ad, they will be redirected to a page that only provides the necessary information to help convert the customer. This kind of page could have more content about the specific home remodeling service you are targeting and can have a contact form they can fill out. Also with this kind of page, you can remove the other tabs people can click on. In other words, the reason for this page is to keep the customer only on this page, because sometimes when customers click on an ad, they can get lost with all of the other tabs they can click on. With a PPC landing page, you can keep the customer on one page, so either they read the contact and fill out the form or they exit that page.
